These gardens are situated between Place du Carrousel and Place de la Concorde. The land was purchased by Caterina de'Medici in 1563 with the intention of transforming it into an English style garden. Enriched by Le Nôre in 1663, the present Tuileries garden includes two large sectors crossed by a central avenue which is lined with large flower beds and decorated with sculptures.
