This is an immense arch dedicated to the world of global enterprises which continues the extensive vision of the Arc de Triomph and the Champs-Elysées. Construction began in 1955 and is still growing and developing. Amongst the imposing modern buildings featuring pure geometric designs (the Fiat, Manhattan, Gan and Elf-Aquitaine towers), the CNIT Building (National Centre of Industries and Technology) also stands out. It was built by Zehrfuss, Camelot and Mailly in wings of cement and is a challenging construction rather like an upturned shell resting only on three supports; every year it hosts major trade fairs.
